Hello readers! In this article, I'll discuss an issue sent to us by one of our readers complaining about it's Galaxy Note 4 that keeps rebooting after replacing a new battery. Since, the battery has been replaced we can eliminate the suspicion that a faulty battery is causing it, instead, it could be a corrupted files and data or a ruin firmware is triggering the problem to occur. So, this time, the best thing that we can do is to isolate the problem until we can figure it out the real issue and resolve it. That being said, here are the methods that we want you to do:
Step 1: Try Wiping the System Cache Partition
If you haven't tried deleting the system cache partition of your Note 4, then this would be the perfect time that you should do it. It will remove all files and data stored in the cache directory so that brand new ones will be replaced in the cache partition. Don't you worry, this procedure is safe and all your important files saved on your phone will remain intact. This is how to wipe the cache partition:
- Turn off the Galaxy Note 4 completely.
- Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
- When the Note 4 vibrates, release both the Home and Power buttons but continue to press and hold the Volume Up button.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up button.
- Using the Volume Down button, highlight 'wipe cache partition' and press the Power button to confirm it.
- When wiping the cache partition is finished, highlight 'Reboot System now' and hit the Power button.
After you do so, use your phone and observe if it will still restarts. If so, proceed to the next step for your device might experiencing serious software problem.
Step 2: Perform Master reset
In doing this procedure, all your files and data saved on your phone will be wiped out, so, before you follow the steps we suggest you to transfer all your important files to your SD card or Personal computer. But the good thing is, this method is very effective in dealing minor and serious firmware issues, so, if your Galaxy Note 4 is experiencing firmware problem, then, master reset might help get rid of it. Here's how to reset your phone:
- Turn off the Galaxy Note 4 completely.
- Press and hold the Volume Up and Home and Power buttons at the same time.
- When the Note 4 vibrates, release both the Home and Power buttons but continue to press and hold the Volume Up button.
- When the Android System recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up button.
- Using the Volume Down button, highlight 'wipe data/ factory reset' and press the Power button to select it.
- Now, highlight 'Yes-delete all user' using the Volume Down button and press and Power button to begin the reset.
- When the master reset is complete, highlight 'Reboot System now' and hit the Power button.
- The Note 4 will restart but it will be longer than usual. When it reaches the Home screen, then begin your setup.
However, after the reset and your phone still restarting without apparent reason, we suggest you to visit the nearest accredited shop in your area so that the tech can further check the device.
