One of the most common issues that we are always receiving for the past several months is app problem. In fact, there were lots of users complaining about it wherein according to some owners that the error message "Unfortunately App has stopped" keeps on showing up out of the blue once they have to open a certain app
So, in this post, we have to isolate that issue by considering all possibilities to know what the real problem is and fix it. Don't you worry, this is just a minor problem and you can easily fix it without bringing your Galaxy S4 to the tech. So to start with the troubleshooting, here are the procedures that we suggest you to do:
Step 1: Reset the App
In this method, we will bring back the app to it's factory default by deleting all caches and data stored in the app for it might be corrupted or outdated and caused the issue. But don't you worry, this step won't ruin your important files and data. Here's how:
- From Home screen, tap Apps.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Applications.
- Tap Manger applications.
- Tap the All tab.
- Choose the name of the app.
- Tap Clear Cache.
- Tap Clear Data.
- Tap OK.
After you reset your app, open again the app and see if the error message still appears. If it is, move to the next method.
Step 2: Delete the System Cache Partition
This method is similar to the first step you performed the only difference is, you are resetting the phone's cache directory or the files and data that the device are using. The purpose of doing this is to remove all caches in the directory to be sure that all files and data are new and compatible to the system. To do so, follow these steps:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the following three buttons the Home, Power and Volume Up buttons.
- When the phone vibrates, release the Power button but continue to press and hold the Home and Volume Up keys.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Home and Volume Up buttons.
- Press the Volume Down button to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
- Press the Power button to select it. The phone will automatically restart after the cache is wiped.
Step 3: Bring your phone back to its factory default
If the error message still shows up even after wiping the cache partition, then, your last option is to reset your phone. Through reset all software-related issues on your phone will be fixed. But the downside is, all your files and data will be lost, so, before you have to follow the steps we recommend you to create first a backup so that you can restore it easily after the reset and the issue is resolved.
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the following three buttons, the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
- When the phone vibrates, release the Power button but continue to press and hold the Home and Volume Up buttons.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Home and Volume Up buttons.
- Press the Volume Down button several times to highlight 'wipe data/ factory reset.'
- Press the Power button to select.
- Press the Volume Down key to select 'delete all user data.'
- Press the Power button to select and start the master reset.
- When the master reset is complete, Reboot System Now' is highlighted.
- Press the Power button to restart the device.
