Here's how to troubleshoot "Unfortunately, Calendar has stopped" error
Step 1: Delete the Cache and data of your Calendar app
More often than not, if the app's cache and data become outdated or ruined that would be the reason that the error message appears on your phone screen. So, now, the best thing that want you to do is to reset your Calendar app. Meaning, we will bring the app to its factory default and the files and data in it will be deleted so that newer once will be replaced. This is how to reset the Calendar app:
- From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
- Tap Settings and scroll to 'Applications' section.
- Tap Application manager.
- Swipe left or right to display contents of "ALL tab"
- Scroll to and tap the desired app.
- Tap Clear Data button.
- Tap Clear Cache button.
- Tap Ok.
Step 2: Boot your Phone in Safe mode
In this environment, all third-party apps will be disabled temporarily and only the pre-installed will be running in the system. So, while in this mode and the issue is not anymore happening, then, there's a culprit you need to uninstall to resolve the problem.
- Turn off the phone completely.
- Press and hold the Power key and the Volume Down key.
- When the phone starts to boot, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Down key until the phone finished restarting.
- Safe mode will be display at the lower left corner, you may release the Volume Down key now.
However, after booting in safe mode and the error message still pops-up, then, you don't have a choice but to delete the system cache partition. Unlike to the first procedure that you performed, this one will delete the overall cache and data of the phone. Don't you worry, this method won't ruin your device as well as the files saved on your internal storage. Here's how:
- Turn off the Galaxy Note 4 completely.
- Press and hold the Power key, Home key and Volume Up key simultaneously.
- When the Note 4 vibrates, release both the Home and Power keys but continue to press and hold the Volume up key.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up key.
- Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option 'wipe cache partition' and press the Power key to select it.
- When the wiping of the cache partition is finished, highlight 'Reboot System now' and hit the Power key.
Step : Perform Master reset
Since, all procedures you performed didn't fix the issue of your phone the last option that you can do is to reset your Note 4. If the device is experiencing serious firmware issue, then, this method will surely fix it. The downside is, all files and data saved on your internal storage will be deleted. In other words, once you do the reset the device will be back to its default settings. This is how to reset your Samsung Galaxy Note 4:
- Turn off the Galaxy Note 4 completely.
- Press and hold the Power key, Home key and Volume Up key at the same time.
- When the Note 4 vibrates, release both the Home and Power keys but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up key.
- Using the Volume Down key, highlight 'wipe data/ factory reset' and press the Power key to select it.
- Now highlight 'Yes- delete all user data' using the Volume Down key and press the Power key to begin the reset.
- When the master reset is complete, highlight 'Reboot System Now' and hit the Power key.
- The Note 4 will restart but it will be longer than usual. When it reaches the Home screen, then begin your setup.
