Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S5 "Unfortunately, UI has stopped working" issue

Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S5 "Unfortunately, UI has stopped working" issue

One of the reasons that "Unfortunately, UI has stopped working" error message appears on your screen it is because the app is crashing. Meaning, the app may be having issues initializing and triggered the error message to pops-up on your screen. So, this time, we recommend you to do a step by step procedure on your phone until you can find a solution and resolve the issue. Here are the possible solutions that we want you to do:

Step 1: Clear the Cache and data of the App
In this method, we recommend you to reset the app through deleting all cache and data stored in app's directory to be sure that all of it are updated and will run perfectly once you have to launch it. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Home screen.
  2. Open the Apps list.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Go to Applications.
  5. Tap Application Manager.
  6. Tap the App that you want to reset.
  7. Tap Clear Data.
  8. Tap OK.
  9. Tap Clear Cache.
After clearing the app's files and data, launch the app and see if the error message will still show up. If it is, move to the next step.

Step 2: Perform Safe mode on your Galaxy S5
In this diagnostic state, we have to figure it out if one of the third-party apps on your phone is causing the issue. Through this mode, only the pre-installed ones will be running in the system while the downloaded applications will be disabled temporarily. So, if the error message wont show up while in Safe mode, then, obviously a culprit is causing it. Find that one and uninstall it to get rid the problem.

  1.  Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key.
  3. When 'Samsung Galaxy S5' appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  4. Immediately releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume Down key.
  5. Continue to press and hold the Volume Down key until the device finishes restarting.
  6. Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  7. Release the Volume Down key when you see Safe mode.
Step 3: Backup all your files and do a reset
However, after clearing the cache partition and the error message still persists, then, your phone may be experiencing a serious firmware issue. In in this case, the best thing that you need to do is to perform the so-called master reset. Remember, this method is more complicated compared to other steps because all files saved on your phone will be deleted. So, before you do the steps be sure to transfer everything to your SD card or personal computer. This is how you do the reset:
  1. Power Down your Galaxy S5.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up button, Home button and Power button together until you see Android on screen.
  3. Use Volume Down button to highlight the wipe data/ factory reset option and press the Power button to select it.
  4. Use Volume down again to highlight Yes- delete all user data and press the Power button to select it.
  5. Use the Power button to select Reboot system now.
  6. When the S5 restarts it should be completely wiped and ready to set up again.
