Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S3 Camera problem after system update

Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S3 Camera problem after system update

One of the most useful feature that Samsung Galaxy S3 has is its camera. But what if your camera is not working after you do a system update? So, in this troubleshooting guide, I'll be dealing an issue sent to us by one of the users of Galaxy S3 complaining about camera problem after the update. To start the troubleshooting, here are the methods that we want you to do:

Step 1: Clear the Cache and Data of the Camera App
Since, the system has been updated there is a big chance that the files and data of the app had been outdated or ruined during the process. So, what we have to do now is to delete those files and data in stored in the camera app so that fresher and compatible ones will be stored in the directory. Here's how:

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. From the options, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Application manager.
  4. Swipe twice to left to choose All tab.
  5. Scroll to and tap Camera app.
  6. Tap Force close button.
  7. Tap Clear Cache button.
  8. Tap Clear Data button.(Please note that all your settings preferences will be deleted when you do this)
  9. Reboot your phone.
After the method, launch the camera app and see if it's already working. If not, try the next step.

Step 2: Delete the System Cache Partition
This procedure is similar to the first method that you performed the difference is, this step will removed the overall files and data of the device. As a matter of fact, this method is very effective in fixing app-related issues especially if it occurs after the update. Don't you worry, all your personal files saved in the internal storage of your Galaxy S3 won't be deleted. this is how you do it:
  1. Turn the phone off.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons until the phone vibrates.
  3. Let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Home and Volume Up buttons until the Android System Recovery screen appears.
  4. Press the Volume Down button to choose 'wipe cache partition.'
  5. Press the Power key to select.
When the procedure is done, launch the camera app again and observe closely if the performance improved. If so, then, corrupted caches and data triggered the problem. However, if the problem continues, then, try the next method.

Step 3: Perform Factory reset
Remember, doing a reset on your phone should be the last option that you should do if the previous steps failed to fix the problem. Through factory reset, you will be bringing your phone back to its factory default and all files and data saved in the internal storage will be deleted. The good thing is, if your device was bugged during the update, then, this procedure will fix it. Here's how:
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu button.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Tap on accounts tab and choose Backup and Reset.
  4. Tap Factory data reset.
  5. Tap Reset device.
  6. Tap Delete All.
