How do I Uninstall, Disable, and Hide Applications on my Samsung Galaxy S5?

Applications that you installed on your Samsung Galaxy S5 can be uninstalled. Preloaded (or system) applications on your device can be turned off or disabled. You can also hide applications from the Apps menu.

Below are some of the procedures you can find useful in managing your apps.

How to Uninstall Applications from your Galaxy S5

Using the Apps Menu

From the Home screen, touch Apps  > More options > Uninstall/disable apps. Touch  next to the application you would like to uninstall, then touch Uninstall.

Using the Application Manager

From the Home screen, touch Apps  > Settings  > Applications  > Application manager. If necessary, swipe to the DOWNLOADED tab. Touch the application in the list. Touch Uninstall > Uninstall. Applications preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled, but you can uninstall any updates you have applied by touching Uninstall updates > OK.

How to Hide Applications in your Galaxy S5

You can hide applications in the Apps menu. This does not uninstall or disable them. It only removes them from view.

From the Apps menu, touch Apps  > More options > Hide apps. Mark the applications you want to hide, and touch Done.

How to Turn Off Applications in your Galaxy S5

You can turn off or disable certain preloaded (or system) applications on your device. Once turned off, the application will be hidden and will no longer be accessible until it is turned on.
From the Home screen, touch Apps  > More options > Uninstall/disable apps. Touch  next to the application you would like to turn off, then touch Disable.

A message may warn you about turning off built-in applications; touch OK to proceed. Before the application can be turned off, any updates will be uninstalled and replaced with the factory default version; touch Reset to proceed.

How to Turn On Applications in your Galaxy S5

Using the Apps Menu

You can turn on disabled applications from the Apps menu. Touch Apps  > More options > Show disabled apps. Mark the applications you want to turn on, and touch Done.

Using the Application Manager

The Application manager also lets you turn on disabled apps. Touch Apps  > Settings  > Applications  > Application manager. Swipe to the TURNED OFF. tab at the top of the screen. Touch the app you wish to turn on, and then touch Turn on.

I hope this helps.
