Messaging issue in Samsung Galaxy S3 is not new and there are tons of reports we've been receiving for the past several years. As a matter of fact, we already resolved this issue before but for the benefits of other users who experienced this problem just recently, then, we will discuss again this subject to help them resolved the problem. There are number of factors to consider why this is happening, it could be caused by a glitch in the system, third-party app or the firmware itself does have a problem that resulted that the message notification pops-up frequently without apparent reason. That being said, here are the procedures that you need to do.
Step 1: Wipe the System Cache Partition
Through deleting the system cache partition we have to eliminate the suspicion that corrupted caches triggered the issue. We will try to reset the directory by deleting all files and data stored in it so that the device can fresher ones. Here's how:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key and Power key.
- When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and Home key.
- When the Android System Recovery appears, release the Volume Up key and Home key.
- Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
- Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
- With 'Reboot system now' is highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.
After wiping the system cache partition observe closely and see if the message notification still appears. If, however, the issue still persists, follow the next procedure.
Step 2: Reset your Galaxy S3
Since, the issue persist after the method the last thing that you can do is to reset your Galaxy S3. The purpose of doing the reset is to bring back the firmware to its factory default. But the downside is, once you do the method all files and data saved in the internal storage, so, before you do the reset make sure to create first a backup. Here's how:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key and Power key.
- When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and Home key.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up key and Home key.
- Press the Down Volume key to highlight the 'wipe data/ factory reset.'
- Press the Power button to select.
- Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'delete all user data.'
- Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, Reboot System now' is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
