Quick fix on Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy S5 unable to send a text message

Short Message Service (SMS) or text messaging issue is one of the most common complaints that we've been receiving for the past several years. As a matter of fact, until now lots of android users reported to us about this problem and asking for remedies on how to resolve this certain issue. Occasionally, unable to send an SMS problem is triggered by corrupted files and data or a network issue.

So, in this article, I'll tackle the factors that might causing this problem and consider all possibilities through performing the basic troubleshooting procedures. Here's how:

Step 1: Check your Network coverage
One of the reasons that you're having this type of issue if your signal strength is weak. In other words, you should need to have at least 3 bars of signal strength on your phone so that you can successfully sent your SMS or text message. If you have a weak signal on your phone look for place that has a strong signal and try sending an SMS. However, if you have a good signal but your still unable to successfully sent a message, then, there might be another factor triggered the problem. Proceed to the next procedure.

Step 2: Try Wiping the System Cache Partition
In this method, we have to delete the old files and data stored in the directory so that newer caches will be generated by the device. Doing this will eliminate the suspicion that corrupted or outdated files and data caused the issue. Don't you worry, this step won't harm or erase your important files, instead, it will  just have to clean up the cache directory of the phone so that newer ones will be replaced. This is how you do it:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key and Power key.
  3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and Home key.
  4. When the Android System Recovery Screen appears, release the Volume Up key and Home key.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  6. Press the Power key to select.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, 'Reboot System Now' is highlighted.
  8. Press the Power key to restart the device.
After wiping the cache partition try to send again an SMS to see if the issue still happening. If so, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Reset your Galaxy S5
Since, we don't have a clue what really caused the issue on your phone, the best thing that you should do is to do a reset. This will removed all bugs in the system that might preventing the device from functioning normally, so, if your phone was bugged, then, resetting it might resolve the issue. But before you will do so, try to create first a backup by transferring all files to your Personal computer or SD card. Here's how to reset your phone:
