Hello readers! In this post, I'll tackle one of the common issues that Samsung Galaxy S4 users were always complaining for the past several months, which is the camera problem. If this issue occur out of the blue, then, there is a chance that this is just a minor software problem. On the other hand, if your Galaxy S4 has physical damage or had been dropped to a hardware surface you can immediately bring it to the nearest shop in your area for a hardware problem might causing it.
But since, we are not certain what the real problem is, all you need to do is to rule-out each and every possibility until we can formulate a solution and resolve the issue. That being said, here are the methods that you should do:
Step 1: Perform Battery-pull procedure
This is a very basic method, in which it refreshes phone's memory and closes all running apps running in the background. So, if this is just a glitch in the system triggered the problem, then, this method will surely fix it. Remove the battery and press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds to release all static electricity present in the hardware components. However, if the method is not helping the issue,proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Wipe the System Cache Partition
In this procedure, we have to eliminate the suspicion that corrupted caches triggered the problem. These files and data are the one responsible to make the device run smoothly and efficiently once it will be loaded to the firmware. So, if these caches become corrupted there is a big chance that issues will occur on your phone without apparent reason. To do so, follow these steps:
- Turn the phone off completely.
- Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
- Release the Power button when the phone vibrates but continue to press and hold the Volume Up and Home buttons.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release both the Home and Volume Up buttons.
- Using the Volume Down button, highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
- Press the Power button to select the option.
- The phone will automatically restart once cache and data are wiped out.
Step 3: Perform reset on your Galaxy S4
If deleting the system caches won't help the issue on your phone, the next procedure that you should do is to reset your phone. All your files and data saved in the internal storage will be deleted, so, before you have to follow the steps be sure to create first a backup so that you can easily restore it if the issue is fixed. Here's how:
- Turn off the device completely.
- Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons at the same time.
- When the phone vibrates, release the Power button but continue to press and hold the Volume Up and Home buttons.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home buttons.
- Press the Volume Down button to highlight 'wipe data/ factory reset.'
- Press the Power button to select it.
- Press the Volume Down button until 'delete all user data is highlighted.'
- Press the Power button to select and start the Master reset.
- When the master reset is complete, 'Reboot System now' is highlighted.
- Press the Power button to restart the device.
