How to fix on Galaxy Note 4 keeps on rebooting after update

In troubleshooting this type of problem on your Galaxy Note 4, there are lots of factors we need to consider why this is happening. It could be the battery is not functioning normally or faulty that resulted the device to restart. On the other hand, if new system had been installed there is a chance that the files and data were ruined during the process and triggered the issue on your phone.

So, in this post, we will discuss the same issue and consider all possible factors causing it until we can formulate a solution. But the good thing is, this is just a minor problem and you can fix it on your own without any help from a tech. So, to figure it out what really triggered the problem, here are the steps that you should do:

Step 1: Verify if the battery is faulty

First and foremost it is imperative that you should check if the battery is fine by connecting your phone to the charger and let it charge for several minutes. While it is connected to the charger power on your device and observe closely if the issue continue to persists. If the device function normally while it is charging, then, there is a chance that your battery is faulty and that may be causing the issue. You can buy a new battery and replaced it to resolve the problem.

However, after checking and the battery is fine, then, there is a chance that corrupt files and data triggered it or there's a culprit causing the issue.

Step 2: Reboot your phone in Safe Mode

Sometimes, due to some incompatible third-party apps running in the background the system could no longer run properly and resulted the device to experience different types of software-related issues. So, to eliminate this suspicion, we suggest you to reboot you phone in safe mode. Through this mode, all third-party apps will be prevented from from running and only pre-installed ones left running in the system.

  1. Turn off your Galaxy Note 4.
  2. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously.
  3. When the phone starts to boot, release the Power button but continue to press and hold the Volume Down button until the phone finishes restarting.
  4. Safe Mode will be displayed at the lower left corner; you may release the Volume Down button now.
But if the phone still reboots while in this mode, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Wipe the System Cache Partition

Wiping the cache partition is another environment, in which it deletes all files and data stored in the partition that makes your device to run smoothly and efficiently. In other words, if these files and data were corrupted during the update that would be the reason that the issue occur. In doing this method, your files and data saved in the internal storage will remain intact and only the caches and data in the partition will be wiped out. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off your Galaxy Note 4.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Down, Power and Home buttons at the same time,
  3. When the Note 4 vibrates, release both the Home and Power buttons but continue to press and hold the Volume Down button.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up button.
  5. Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option 'wipe cache partition' and press the Power key to select it.
  6. When wiping of the cache partition is complete, highlight 'reboot system now' and hit the Power key.
But if the continues after the method, then, there is a chance that the firmware itself was ruined during the system update and caused the issue. In this instance, all you need to do is to perform a reset on your phone. It will delete all files and data stored on your device, so, before you follow the steps be sure to create first a backup by transferring all of it to your SD card or Personal computer. The good thing is, if this is just a minor problem, then, this method will surely fix it.
  1. Turn off your Galaxy Note 4.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons at the same time.
  3. When the Note 4 vibrates, release both the Home and Power buttons but continue to press and hold the Volume Down button.
