How to fix Galaxy S3 Google Play Store app that won't download

How to fix Galaxy S3 Google Play Store app that won't download
One of the best apps we can consider that adds elegance to all android devices is the Google Play Store wherein you can download and install app that you want. But what if your Play Store won't download any app on your phone? In this article, I'll discuss this type of issue, wherein some users were complaining that their Google Play Store refused to download any app without apparent reason.

Mostly, this type of issue is caused by a minor system glitch, third-party apps, corrupted files and data or the app itself is outdated. So, to be sure and determine what triggered the issue there are procedures that we suggest you to do to isolate the problem and fix it. That being said, here are the methods that you need to perform:

Step 1: Perform Battery-pull procedure
The purpose of doing this method is to refresh phone's memory and eliminate the suspicion that a glitch in the system is causing the problem. To do so, remove the battery of your S3 and press the Power key for 7 seconds to release the remaining electricity in the hardware components and place it back the battery and turn on your phone. While in this state, open your Play Store and try to download any app and see if the issue occurs. If the problem continues, jump over to the next method.

Step 2: Reset Play Store app
If the app's cache and data had been corrupted or become outdated and could no longer recognized by the firmware that would be the reason that issues like this occur in the device every now and then. So, this time, we will try to reset the app so that newer files and data will be created to be sure that all of it will run perfectly once it is loaded to the firmware. Don't you worry, this step won't harm your important saved files and data in the internal storage. Here's how:
  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap More.
  4. Scroll to and tap Application manager.
  5. Scroll to and tap Google Play Store.
  6. Tap Clear Cache.
  7. Tap Clear Data.
  8. Tap OK.
After you reset app's cache and data, try to download again an app and see if the issue still the same. If the issue is not anymore happening, then, corrupted files and data caused it. However, after the method and you're still unable to download an app, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Remove your Account and Sign in again
Although there is no assurance that the issue will be fixed if you do this method on your phone. But there were reports from other users saying that after they follow this step the issue suddenly gone and they can download any app without a problem. Just go to Settings>Accounts>tap Google>tap your account>tap Remove account. Now, Sign it in again and open your Google Play Store and download again an app and observe if the issue is fixed. However, if the step still doesn't work, follow the next method.

Step 4: Check if your Mobile Data is Disabled
In downloading an app, you need to check if you're using Mobile data or Wifi, because if you're using both that would be one of the factors that your phone won't go through or successfully download an app. Just go to Settings>More Settings>Mobile Network>Uncheck Mobile data. After you do so, and the issue is gone, then, that would be the reason that the issue is happening.

Step 5: Perform Factory reset
However, if all methods you performed on your Galaxy S3 is not helping the problem, then, the last option that you should do is to perform master reset. Meaning, all files and data saved on your phone will be deleted, so, before you follow the steps be sure to create first a backup. The good thing about this method is, if the device was bugged or has serious firmware issue this procedure has a big chance to fix it. Here's how:
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu button.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap on Accounts tab and choose Backup and Reset.
  4. Tap Factory Date Reset.
  5. Tap Reset Device.
  6. Tap Delete All.
I hope this post helps.
