Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S4 that keeps on shutting down

Quick fix on Samsung Galaxy S4 that keeps on shutting down

Shutting down frequently issue is a very common problem not just in Galaxy S4 but to all variants that runs with android operating system. Usually, this type of issue is happening if the files and data become outdated, incompatible third-party apps installed in the system or the battery of the device is faulty. As what I've said, there are three factors that might causing this issue on your phone and these are the possibilities we need to isolate before we jump to the conclusion and fix the issue. Here's how:

Step 1: Check if the battery is faulty
As I mentioned earlier, one of the reasons that the device shuts down without a reason if the battery is faulty. In this instance, the first thing that you should do is to remove first the battery and check it if it is swollen or not. After removing it, place the battery to a flat surface and try to flick it, if it spin, then, obviously your battery is swollen and we suggest you to replace it with newer one so that the issue will be fixed.

However, if the battery is not swollen and the problem still persists, then, your phone might have a serious firmware issue. Follow the next step.

Step 2: Try to Wipe the System Cache Partition via Recovery Mode
Since, the battery is fine and the issue still happening the best thing that we want you to do on your phone is to wipe its system cache partition. Through wiping the cache partition all files and data in the directory will be erased so that brand new ones will be created and could run perfectly once it is loaded to the system. This is how you do so:
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up, Home and Power keys.
  3. When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  4. When the Android system recovery screen appears, release the Volume and Home keys.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight 'Wipe Cache Partition.'
  6. Press the Power key to select. The phone will automatically restart after the cache is wiped.
Step 3: Reset your phone
But after all those procedures and your Galaxy S4 still reboots, then your last resort is to do a reset. In this method, all your saved files and data saved in the internal storage will be erased including contacts, music, photos and videos. So, before you do the step make sure to transfer all of it to your SD card or personal computer to be more easier for you to restore all of it once the issue is fixed. Here are the steps to do the reset:
  1. Switch your phone Off.
  2. Hold the Volume Down, Power and Home keys at the same time for 10 seconds. Release them when the Android logo appears on the screen. This will bring up the unlock/reset menu.
  3. To navigate through this menu, use the Volume up/down buttons to scroll up and down and the Power button to confirm selections.
  4. Scroll down and Select Wipe data/Factory reset.
  5. Scroll down and select Yes-Delete All User Data.
  6. When prompted, scroll to and select Reboot System Now. The Phone will then reboot to its factory default.
