How to fix Galaxy S4 "Unfortunately, Internet has stopped" error

Since, the Galaxy S4 was unveiled in the market several years back tons of users reported about different types of software-related problems. So, in this post, I'll discuss an issue that users were always complaining, in which, according to them that an "Unfortunately, Internet has stopped" error message keeps on showing up. To rule-out this problem it is imperative that you should have to perform some troubleshooting procedures to determine all possible causes and resolve the problem.

More often, this type of problem occur if the files and data become outdated or there's something to do with firmware itself. That being said, here are the methods that you should do:

Step 1: Clear App's Cache and Data

If the error message suddenly appears without apparent reason there is a chance that this is just a software-related problem and you can fix it on your own. In this instance, we suggest you to delete all caches stored in the app to be sure that all old ones will be erased and newer ones will be replaced.

  • Go to Settings.
  • Proceed to Applications.
  • Select Manage Applications.
  • Tap the All Tab.
  • Choose the App.
  • From there tap Clear Cache and Data.
However, if the error message still popping up after the method, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Wipe Cache Partition

Similar to the first method, this one is more effective it's because it will remove all system files and data stored on your phone. So, if these files and data is the key factor that triggers the issue, then, this method is very effective. Don't you worry, all your important files stored in the internal storage won't be deleted. Here's how:
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Power, Home and Volume Up buttons at the same time.
  • When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power button but continue to press and hold the Home and Volume Up buttons.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home buttons.
  • Press the Volume Down button to highlight 'Wipe cache partition.'
  • Press the Power button to select. The phone will automatically restart after the caches are wiped out.

Step 3: Perform Master reset

But if the first and second procedure is not helping the issue on your phone, the last option that we want you to do is to perform a reset. Meaning, you have to bring back your phone to its factory default and all your files and data saved in the internal storage will be deleted. So, before you do the method be sure to create first a backup by transferring it to your SD card or Personal Computer. This is how you reset your device:
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the three buttons at the same time; Home, Volume Up and Power buttons. Release them when the Android logo appears on the screen. This will bring Up the unlock/reset menu.
  • To navigate through this menu, use the Volume Up/Down buttons to scroll up and Down and press the Power button to confirm selections.
  • Scroll Down and select Wipe data/Factory reset.
  • Scroll Down and select Yes-Delete all user Data.
  • When prompted, scroll to and select Reboot System Now. The phone will then reboot to its factory settings.
I hope this post helps.
