How to Fix on Galaxy S5 keeps on restarting after system update

Step 1: Try booting in Safe Mode

Through booting in this mode, all apps that you downloaded in Google Play Store will be disabled temporarily and only the pre-installed ones left running in the system. So, if your phone successfully boots up while in this mode, then there's an app you need to find and uninstall from the system to resolve this problem. Follow these steps to boot in Safe mode:

• Turn off the device.
• Press and hold the Power key.
• When the 'Samsung Galaxy S5' appears on the screen, release the Power key.
• Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume Down key.
• Continue to hold down the Volume Down key until the device finishes restarting.
• Safe Mode will display in the lower left corner of the screen.
• Release the Volume Down key when you see Safe mode.

Step 2: Wipe the System Cache Partition

In this procedure, we will try to reset the cache directory of the device. • When the android system recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
• Using the Volume Down key highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
• Press the Power key to select it.

Step 3: Perform Master reset

However, if it's still reboots after wiping the cache partition the last thing that you can do is to do a reset. This will remove all culprits in the firmware and delete all files and data saved on your phone once you do this method. But the good thing is, if this is just a firmware problem this procedure is very effective and would surely resolve the issue. But before you follow the steps, be sure to create first a backup or transfer everything to your SD card or Personal computer so that you can easily restore once the issue is fixed. Here's how:

• Turn off the device.
• Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys at the same time.
• When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Home and Volume Up keys.
• When the Android System recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
• Press the Volume Down key several times to highlight 'wipe data/ factory reset.'
• Press the Power button to select.
• Press the Volume Down key until 'Yes-delete all user data' is highlighted.
• Press the Power key to to select and start the master reset.
• When the master reset is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
• Press the Power key to restart the device.
